  • ⅔ cup ice water (cold)
  • 1½ cups apple butter (plus a bit extra for topping)
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla paste or extract
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing flour and salt in a food processor. Add cold butter and pulse until crumbly.
  2. Gradually add ice-cold water until the dough comes together. Chill for 1-2 hours.
  3. Roll out the chilled dough and transfer it to a pie dish. Trim edges and freeze for 15 minutes.
  4. Pre-bake the crust at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes, then let it cool.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together apple butter, eggs, dark brown sugar, flour, sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, ground cinnamon, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Pour filling into the pre-baked crust and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 45 minutes or until set.
  7. Cool completely before serving.
