  • 3 pounds sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup unsalted beef stock or broth
  • 1 ounce au jus gravy mix (1 packet)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Season the steak pieces with salt and pepper in a large bowl until evenly coated.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear half of the steak pieces until browned. Repeat with remaining steak.
  3. Transfer all seared steak into a Crockpot.
  4. Add sliced onion and garlic on top of the steak; gently toss together.
  5. Pour the beef stock over the mixture and sprinkle with au jus gravy mix.
  6. Place slices of butter evenly over the top.
  7. Cover and cook on HIGH for 3–4 hours or LOW for 6–8 hours until tender.
