  • 1 packet instant yeast
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup warm water or warm milk
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 7 tablespoons salted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Add warm water or milk, honey, and 1 tablespoon of butter. Knead until smooth.
  2. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Roll out dough into a rectangle; spread with remaining butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Fold in half and cut into strips.
  5. Twist each strip into knots and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Melt remaining butter and combine with brown sugar and cinnamon; spoon over knots.
  7. Bake for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Mix glaze ingredients until smooth; drizzle over warm knots before serving.
